What the heck is a podcast?

Liberatr produces several podcasts, which means they plan on posting regular updates in the form of audio or video files. No iPod or portable MP3 player of any kind is required to enjoy our podcasts. All of our shows are simple mp3 or quicktime files, which can be played in every popular media player. All of our podcast sites also include players to stream the episodes right from the page. There also exists a great enabling technology for podcasts called RSS, or Really Simple Syndication. RSS feeds allow you the listener to be notified every time we release a new show, and to automatically download the file if you use iTunes, a podcatcher like Miro, or a media browser like Songbird.
